HOW GOOGLE NEWS WORKS
Why is Google indexing a problem ?
A complex algorithm is used by Google News to select and rank news articles. Here are some important points to bear in mind:
Which sources: It includes a wide variety of sources, including traditional news sites, blogs, specialist publications and so on. Publishers can submit their websites to be indexed by Google News.
Selection criteria: The focus is on news articles that are relevant, recent and of high quality. The credibility of the source, the authority of the author, the number of previous publications and the quality of the content are all taken into account.
Articles are ranked according to relevance, quality and popularity. The number of clicks, social network shares and user interactions are all taken into account.
Various indexing problems on Google News
Although it strives to provide a quality service, this online platform can encounter indexing problems. Here are some typical problems:
Technical problems: Technical errors on publisher sites, such as misconfigured tags or crawl problems, can prevent Google from indexing articles.
Content that doesn't meet requirements: Strict rules for content. An article may be excluded from the index if it does not comply with these guidelines (for example, if it contains duplicate content, false information or irrelevant content).
Loading speed issues: Google News favors a fast user experience, so slow sites may be penalized in terms of indexing.
Competition to appear in Google News results is fierce. To increase their chances of being indexed, publishers need to stand out by providing unique, high-quality and relevant content.

How does the search engine work?
Crawl
So Google has to find the pages to copy into its index. Googlebots perform this task. The bots will find the pages using the links present on the page (body text, menu and footer). They follow these links and copy the content of the url they arrive at. This is done for a limited period of time (the crawl budget).
You can choose to block the indexing of certain pages. This may be the case for pages of no SEO interest (e.g. legal notices).
Indexation
This is the stage when the code is registered in the search engine database. This stage will classify and organize the content in the Google database. The database must be organized in such a way as to display relevant pages in response to different queries.
Google has two indexes: the main index, which groups together the most intriguing pages, and a secondary index dedicated to pages considered of poor quality by Google.
Ranking algorithms
Google uses a large number of algorithms which coexist and are regularly updated.
Their aim is to find the most relevant results in the index and determine the order in which they are displayed. These algorithms aim to provide the user with the best possible response.
